How my journey began
More Than an Author. A Survivor, a Storyteller, and a Sister in Faith.
Hi, I’m Tiffany Velasquez! I am a wife, homeschooling mom, and passionate follower of Jesus Christ. I write with raw honesty, drawing from my own journey through trauma, confusion, and ultimately redemption. I was raised in a complicated mix of distorted religion and family dysfunction. I found myself searching for love, identity, and healing in all the wrong places, like so many others, before discovering what it truly means to be known and loved by God. I had always wanted to be a writer since I was in high school, I just never got around to it.
Come on, let’s do this! Subscribe for all the encouragement you need and follow me on social media for the behind-the-scenes chaos.
Why I Write
For as long as I can remember, I’ve felt the pull to write. Lots of stories, reflections, and prayers scribbled on scraps of paper. But between raising kids, working, and surviving my life storms, writing often got pushed to “someday.”
In 2025, “someday” became right now. I felt God make it clear: it was time to stop holding back and start telling the story He had been writing all along.
My debut, Alone, but Not Really, is my honest, unfiltered walk through childhood trauma, broken relationships, marriage struggles, and the slow, beautiful work of God’s restoration. It’s not just a memoir, it’s a conversation. Each chapter ends with a devotional, reflection questions, a prayer, and even a worship song to carry the message beyond the page.
I recently sat down with the Powerful, Not Perfect podcast to share more of my journey—from growing up in a broken home to discovering my identity in Christ, and how His presence has transformed my life.
If you’d like to hear the conversation (and some of the behind-the-scenes pieces of my book, Alone, but Not Really), you can listen here:
I write because I know what it’s like to feel invisible. I know what it’s like to think you’re too far gone for God to reach. And I write to remind you—He’s closer than you think, and your story isn’t over.
Let’s Walk Together
A Glimpse Into My Life
When I’m not writing or speaking, you’ll find me living a life that’s equal parts beautiful and chaotic.
Homeschooling two of my kids, which means my kitchen table doubles as a classroom, art studio, and snack station.
Adoption mom life, learning daily how to parent with patience, grace, and an extra side of humor.
Marriage that has been through its own valleys and mountaintops, and still manages to keep God at the center.
Coffee-fueled mornings where I sneak a quiet moment with my Bible before the house wakes up.
Messy, real-life moments like folding laundry while answering emails, or praying in the car because the day has already been “a lot.”
And because life with Jesus is anything but boring, yes, I’m covered in tattoos, have had every hair color under the sun (including a season where I was totally bald), and yet here’s the best part: He still loves me exactly as I am.
I’m not a picture-perfect mom, wife, or believer. I’m a woman who knows where she’s been, is thankful for where she is, and is trusting God with where she’s going.
This site isn’t just about my books; it’s about building a space where you can feel seen, heard, and encouraged. My hope is that when you read my words, whether in a book, blog post, or Instagram caption, you’ll hear the same thing God has been whispering to me for years: “You are not alone.”
If you’re looking for a safe space to wrestle with hard questions, find hope in Scripture, and maybe laugh at a motherhood story or two along the way, you’re in the right place.
I’d love to have you join me on the journey. Start with my books, check out the blog, or just send me a message to say hello.
